§ Mr. SHORTasked the Minister of Health the total amount granted to the Wednesbury Town Council to provide relief work for the unemployed since 1918, and the total amount expended by the council from its own rates during the same period?
Mr. CHAMBERLAINI regret that I cannot give the information in the form desired by the hon. Member, but grants have been given by the Unemployment Grants Committee in respect of unemployment schemes estimated to cost £51,345, and by the Ministry of Transport for similar schemes estimated to cost £16,059. I will send the hon. Member particulars of the schemes.
