§ Colonel ASHLEYI am aware of the desirability of improving the condition of the carriageway of this road. I understand, however, that the road authorities consider it inadvisable to begin the work until arrangements can be made for the1696W tramway track to be reconstructed at the same time. They are in negotiation with the Tramway Company on this point.
