§ Mr. R. MORRISONasked the Minister of Transport whether, with regard to the resignation which he has received from one of the members of the London Traffic Advisory Committee, sent to him in April last, he will say whether he has accepted the same; and what steps he is taking to fill the vacancy?
§ Colonel ASHLEYThe resignation was received on the 23rd April, and as the member in question, whose name had originally been put forward by the Association of London Omnibus Proprietors, ceased to attend the meetings of the Committee, the resignation became effective from that date. The members originally appointed went out of office on 1st December last, and the new members, who, save for casual vacancies, will remain in office for the next three years, have all been appointed, with the exception of one of the "additional members." This last appointment I have not yet made, as I am anxious to give the association the fullest opportunity to submit a name for consideration, a course which I have twice requested them to adopt.
