asked the President of the Board of Education (1) if he is aware of the dissatisfaction expressed by 800 Essex elementary school teachers at a recent meeting following the failure of the Essex Education Committee to accept the Burnham salary award; and whether steps are being taken with a view to bringing this authority into line;

(2), if he is aware of the deadlock existing in the County of Essex, and the consequent ill-effects in the elementary schools in that county, owing to the failure of the local education committee to adopt the Burnham scale of salaries; and whether he proposes to take any action in the matter?
