MITCHELLasked the Minister of Health, in view of the fact that the life of a stone or brick house will probably be considerably longer than that of a steel house, and that for both types of houses an equal grant is given, and in order to encourage those who prefer to erect the more permanent type of dwelling, whether he would be willing to consider the question of increasing the grant for houses of this nature?
§ Mr. NEVILLE CHAMBERLAINNo, Sir. Houses are at present being erected by the ordinary methods of construction 2241W up to the full capacity of the house building industry, and an increased subsidy for this type of house would not result in a greater output of houses.
