Mr. GRAHAMThe scheme for a reduction in the working hours of a proportion of the temporary clerical staff in the Civil Service is being applied departmentally, and I have no figures showing in detail the effect in each Department. But I anticipate that the result will be to enable a number of staff whom it would otherwise have been necessary to discharge to be retained rather than to increase the total staff.
