§ Mr. LIVINGSTONEasked the Secretary for Scotland whether he has received a communication from the Lewis district committee, showing that he has been misinformed regarding the Lewis relief schemes; and whether he is now prepared to undertake an immediate investigation into the matter?
Mr. ADAMSONI have received a letter from the district committee which represents that most of the information contained in two letters which I addressed to the hon. Member is inaccurate. After further examination of the matter, I cannot accept the district committee's view, and I propose to answer their communication to this effect. This course will, in my opinion, adequately meet the case, and I see no occasion for a special investigation.
