§ Mr. BUXTONIt is estimated that the total number of allotment holders in England and Wales at the 31st December, 1923, was 1,190,000. According to returns received from local authorities, the unsatisfied demand at that date was from 15,912 individuals and one association, the area required being 1,939 acres. In reply to the last part of the question, the circulars referred to were issued as recently as the 6th March last, and although I anticipate good results, I have no definite information as to the number of additional allotments provided by local authorities since the end of last year.
