§ Mr. G. OLIVERasked the Minister of Labour the number of men employed in the manufacture of motor cars, private cars, and commercial vehicles, respectively, in this country?
§ Mr. SHAWThe only recent figures available are those relating to the total number of insured workpeople recorded as engaged in the construction and repair of motor cars, motor lorries, motor omnibuses, motor cycles, pedal cycles, and aircraft generally at July, 1923, which, in Great Britain, was approximately 193,000, inclusive of those unemployed. I am not in possession of separate figures for motor vehicles.
