Mr. PALMERasked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty if he will inquire into the conditions and remuneration of marines employed in the Naval College at Greenwich with a view to an increase of the remuneration of 25s. per week, with board and lodging, and a reduction of the hours of service per day?
§ Mr. HODGESAs regards the question of remuneration, I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply of the 7th May to the hon. and gallant Member for Central Hull (Lieut.-Commander Kenworthy). No complaint has been received from the staff regarding the hours of duty, and I would suggest that if the men concerned have any grievance they should represent the matter to the President of the College.
