§ Mr. WALSHI have been asked to reply. As I indicated on 8th April last in reply to the hon. Member for Rugby (Mr. E. Brown), the cost of the Army of Occupation for the year ending 31st March last is estimated at £1,560,000 exclusive of accommodation and miscellaneous services provided free by Germany. As regards the last part of the question, as I informed the hon. Member for Ilford (Sir F. Wise) on 7th April last, Germany now pays on a capitation basis, and the amount received from her on this basis for the year in question was £1,200,000.
