§ Mr. JOWITTasked the Home Secretary when the Second Reading of the Criminal Justice Bill will be taken; and whether, in view of the urgent need of establishing a national probation system, the Government will fix an early date for this stage?
Mr. HENDERSONThe fixing of the date does not rest with me, but I am most anxious that the Bill should be proceeded with, and hope it will be found possible to arrange for a Second Reading at an early date.
