JOHNSTONasked the Minister of Transport if, in view of the complaints that engineers on Clyde pleasure steamers are worked for an excessive number of hours per week, he will call for a Return showing the working hours of engineers employed upon the Clyde steamers owned by the railway companies who receive payments for conveying His Majesty's mails?
Mr. ALEXANDERI have been asked to reply. I have no power to call for a Return showing the working hours of engineers employed in any class of steamers, but if my hon. Friend will furnish me with the information in his possession I will consider whether further inquiries can usefully be made.
