§ Mr. WHEATLEYSince the Blind Persons Act, 1920, came into operation, six new workshops have been opened and one is now in course of erection. Considerable extensions have been made or are in progress in connection with eight existing workshops. Three new hostels for blind workers have been opened and one extended. Training centres are under the control of the Board of Education, but I am informed by my right hon. Friend that the Board have recognised 12 new centres, eight new hostels and extensions to two centres for training purposes.
