§ Mr. HARTSHORNThe estimated revenue and expenditure of the postal services for the year 1924–25 on the commercial account basis are:
£ Revenue … … 36,654,000 Expenditure … … 31,233,000 Surplus … … 5,421,000 These figures include no provision for contingent liabilities, resulting from the judgment of the House of Lords in the "Sutton" case, in respect of arrears of War Bonus payable to mobilised Post Office servants. It is not practicable to give separate estimates for the letter post, as distinct from other postal services which are operated as part of a single organisation.
