HC Deb 14 March 1924 vol 170 cc2741-2W
Mr. HAYES

asked the Home Secretary whether the medical officer's duties at Parkhurst Prison are wholly or in part subject to the control or direction of the governor, or whether the medical officer is directly responsible to the Prison Commissioners?

Mr. HENDERSON

The governor of Parkhurst Convict Prison is the chief officer to whom the other officers are subordinate, but the medical officer has entire responsibility to the Commissioners, through the governor, for the medical treatment of the convicts.
