§ Sir L. LYLEasked the Home Secretary whether, in the administration of the Aliens Act, any permits have been refused since the beginning of the year to would-be immigrants suspected of planning, as the main object of their visit, participation in advanced political propaganda in this country; and how many such permits were refused in 1923?
Mr. HENDERSONThis is not a matter which can well be expressed in figures. I can perhaps best meet the hon. Member's point by assuring him that if figures could be extracted they would not afford evidence of any recent change in the administration of the Aliens Order in this connection.
