§ Mr. GOSLINGProvision is made every year in the Road Fund budget for assisting local authorities in the reconstruction and strengthening of road bridges. In addition to this normal provision, a special allocation of £1,750,000 has been made during the current financial year towards bridge works which could usefully be expedited for the relief of unemployment, No schedule is available of bridges needing reconstruction or of the persons or bodies responsible for their maintenance.
