§ Mr. H. JONESasked the Minister of Pensions whether his attention has been called to the case of John Davis, of Penlau House, Barmouth, on behalf of whom an application for a need pension was made in November last; whether he is aware that no action was taken till the 16th of January, when an inquiry officer investigated the case, and that, although the Report of this officer was sent to Cardiff on the 22nd January, no communication was received until the 27th February, and then only in reply to an inquiry; and whether he will take steps to inquire into and report upon the cause of this delay?
Mr. MUIRMy right hon. Friend regrets the delay that has occurred in this case. A pension at the rate of 6s. a week is now, however, being awarded to Mr. Davis on the ground of pecuniary need.
