HC Deb 11 March 1924 vol 170 c2171W
Mr. WADDINGTON

asked the Minister of Pensions whether any awards are made by the Special Grants Committee, or from any other funds under his control, to a pensioner whose pension is only 8s. per week but who is unable to follow his usual employment and is therefore debarred from receiving unemployment pay, and who is also debarred from receiving national health insurance because the medical referee certifies him as fit for light work or such work as is not available?

Mr. ROBERTS

The reply is in the negative. At the same time, I may, perhaps, remind my hon. Friend of the provisions of Section 1 (4) of the Unemployment Insurance (Amendment) Act of last Session, which meets, in some measure, the class of case he has in view.
