asked the Postmaster-General the number of officers employed in connection with the examination and collection of duties on post parcels in London in the year 1920–21, and the number of such officers so employed since the introduction of the reparations and safeguarding of industries duties; and how long these parcels are being detained for examination?

The period of detention, for examination by the Custom Authorities, of parcels subject to reparations and safeguarding of industries duties varies from two to seven days according to the promptitude with which the importers furnish the information required by the Customs Authorities.
