§ Mr. WHEATLEYThe total number of houses erected by local authorities and public utility societies under the Housing, Town Planning, etc., Act, 1919, up to the 1st February, which is the latest date for which information is available, was 168,430, and a further 4,634 were under construction at that date. 39,184 houses were completed by private builders with the aid of the subsidy authorised by the Housing (Additional Powers) Act, 1919.
