§ Mr. SHINWELLThe retail prices of kitchen coal in Central London were, in 1913, 27s. a ton for best kitchen, and 25s. for kitchen nuts; and are now 52s. and 49s., increases of 92 per cent. and 96 per cent. respectively. I regret that statistics of the pit-head prices of these classes of coal are not recorded. The hon. and gallant Member will find in a Report made in 1922 by a sub-committee of the Coal Advisory Committee a comparative analysis, as between pre-War and post-War, of all the items that enter into the retail price of various classes of domestic coal, including kitchen nuts. I will send him a copy.
