§ Mr. MACPHERSONasked the Secretary for Scotland whether he is aware that the Board of Agriculture have not yet completed their arrangement for the erection of the bridge at Balancra, Strathcarron, though they have long recognised that it was a necessity for the community, and particularly for children going to school in winter; what is now the cause of the delay; and when it is proposed to proceed the work?
Mr. ADAMSONI am aware that the Board of Agriculture for Scotland have before them an application by the County Council of Ross-shire for a grant-in-aid of the erection of a bridge at Balancra. No undertaking that the Board will contribute towards the cost has been given, but the application has been noted for further consideration as soon as the state of the Board's funds permits.
