HC Deb 31 July 1924 vol 176 c2259W
Mr. G. THOMPSON

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether, in view of the conflicting schemes and proposals relating to widows' pensions that have been put forward, he will consider the desirability of appointing a Committee representative of all parties to consider and report upon the matter?

Mr. GRAHAM

As has already been announced, the Government are carefully investigating this question, and I do not think that any practical purpose would be gained by adopting the hon. Member's suggestion at any rate at this stage.
