HC Deb 31 July 1924 vol 176 cc2275-6W
Captain RAMAGE

asked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury how many men are now employed in the Valuation Department of the Board of Inland Revenue who joined the Department before the war as temporary valuation assistants; how many of these men were reduced in grading on demobilisation; and how many of them have professional qualifications?

Mr. GRAHAM

There are at present in the Valuation Office some 40 officers who rejoined the Department as temporary clerks in the circumstances explained in the reply given to the hon. and gallant Member on the 1st July. I regret that information as to the professional qualifications of these officers is not available without special inquiries.
