HC Deb 31 July 1924 vol 176 c2280W
Mr. MILLAR

asked the Secretary for Scotland whether he is now in a position to make a statement as to the steps which have been taken to give effect to the recommendations of the Blackburn Committee regarding the provision of pensions and improved conditions of service for procurators-fiscal and sheriff clerks and Sheriff Courts' staffs, and to the views of the various deputations received by him; and whether any arrangements have now been completed with the Treasury to meet the claims of these officials?

Mr. ADAMSON

My right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer tells me that but for the continuance of the Inter-Allied Conference he would already have received the proposed deputation on this subject to which I referred in my reply to the hon. Member of 8th July, and that he will do so as soon as he is in a position to fix a definite date.
