HC Deb 31 July 1924 vol 176 c2262W
Mr. R. MORRISON

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he is aware that petrol-measuring pumps are not measures within the scope of the Weights and Measures Acts; and, in view of the fact that inspectors have no power to test the accuracy of these pumps, whether he will introduce legislation to make petrol-measuring pumps subject to the provisions of the Weights and Measures Acts?

Mr. ALEXANDER

A Bill to give effect to the suggestion made by my hon. Friend has already passed the House of Lords, and I hope it will be possible to proceed with it in this House after the Recess.
