asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he can see his way to throwing open the Foreign Office archives to approved investigators up to the end of the reign of Queen Victoria?

The answer is in the negative, but if the hon. Member will refer to the reply given to the hon. Member for Hexham (Mr. Finney) on the 26th June, he will see that I hope to be able to announce a considerable extension from the present limit during the Autumn Session.
