asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is the taxation on consumption of food and drink respectively, per head of population for 1924 and 1914?

The taxation on food and drink respectively, per head of the population, in the financial years 1913–14 and 1924–25, is as follows:—

"Food" includes sugar, etc., dried and preserved fruits, tea, cocoa, coffee and chicory. "Drink" includes spirits, beer, wine and table waters.
