The taxation on food and drink respectively, per head of the population, in the financial years 1913–14 and 1924–25, is as follows:—

"Food" includes sugar, etc., dried and preserved fruits, tea, cocoa, coffee and chicory. "Drink" includes spirits, beer, wine and table waters.
