HC Deb 25 July 1924 vol 176 cc1635-6W
Mr. HAYES

asked the Secretary for Scotland whether the Report received by the governor of Barlinnie Prison from the first-class warder in connection with Warder R. Heron's special probation was satisfactory or otherwise?

Mr. ADAMSON

in such a case the reports on the conduct and capacity of the officer concerned, which are made for the consideration of the governor and the Prison Commissioners, are of a confidential nature, and I do not consider that it is in the interests of the prison service that the nature of any of the reports, whether favourable or unfavourable, should he made public.
