HC Deb 23 July 1924 vol 176 c1330W
Mr. SHORT

asked the Minister of Health whether he has now completed his inquiries respecting the refusal of the Dudley Board of Guardians to give relief to unemployed persons who have had their claim for benefit disallowed by the, Employment Exchanges?

Mr. WHEATLEY

I have been in communication with the guardians, and I am informed that it is not their practice to refuse to assist persons who have failed to qualify for unemployment benefit. I am sending my hon. Friend a copy of a letter which I have received from the guardians.
