HC Deb 22 July 1924 vol 176 cc1142-3W
Sir A. SINCLAIR

asked the Undersecretary to the Scottish Board of Health whether any villages, and, if so, -which, in Caithness and Sutherland will be ineligible for the subsidy of £12 10s. for rural housing under the Housing (Financial Provisions) Bill?

Mr. ADAMSON

The counties of Caithness and Sutherland, being included within the Highlands and Islands as defined in the Highlands and Islands (Medical Service) Grant Act, 1913, the whole area is situated therein, other than burghs, is a "rural area," and houses erected in any part of that "rural area" will, under the terms of Clause 8 (2) (b) of the Housing (Financial Provisions) Bill, be eligible for the subsidy of £12 10s.
