HC Deb 21 July 1924 vol 176 c907W
Mr. B. SMITH

asked the Home Secretary whether he will expedite the issuing of the Report of the Committee on Hackney and Stage Carriage Vehicles, in view of the urgency of a decision being reached on the subject of standing passengers in Metropolitan omnibuses and tramcars?

Mr. GOSLING

I have been asked to reply. I am afraid the Committee will not be in a position to report for some little time. The situation as regards tramcars and omnibuses is different as far as standing passengers are concerned, and, as the hon. Member is aware, the whole problem of the carriage of passengers in London will be affected by the constitution of the London Traffic Committee.
