HC Deb 16 July 1924 vol 176 c396W
Lieut.-Colonel POWNALL

asked the Secretary of State for War what action has been taken with regard to the 5½ per cent. reduction in officers' pay in respect of consolidated pay, a considerable amount of which is given in lieu of allowances?

Mr. WALSH

Army Order 204 of 1924, paragraph 2, authorises a 5½ per cent. reduction "in all daily and annual rates of pay, including consolidated rates." The fact that consolidated rates of pay are inclusive of allowances is fully appreciated and was taken into account when the Army Order was framed.
