HC Deb 16 July 1924 vol 176 c398W
Mr. S. ROBINSON

asked the Minister of Transport whether he will urge the insertion of a Clause in the Road Traffic Bill for the protection of the public from mud splashing from heavy motor vehicles, which is a grievance to the public at large; and is he aware that Ireland already has a compulsory order to this effect?

Mr. GOSLING

I believe that all anti-mud splash devices which have any claim to consideration have been tested, and I am advised that there is no device which is sufficiently satisfactory to justify a requirement that such devices should be carried on vehicles. I ant aware that there is an order in force in Southern Ireland.
