HC Deb 14 July 1924 vol 176 c43W
Major HORE - BELISHA

asked the Parliamentary Secretary to the Admiralty the number of petty offences committed in the Royal Naval Barracks, Devon-port, against the barrack regulations, for which leave has been stopped or other punishment inflicted, during each of the weeks of the months of January, February, March, April, May, and June, and the number of chief petty officers, petty officers, and men who have been punished for offences under the ,barrack regulations; and whether he will state how the number of these punishments compare with those in other Royal naval barracks?

Mr. AMMON

The figures for the quarter ending June have not yet been received. Those for the previous quarter were carefully considered, in accordance with the assurance given in answer to a former question by the hon. Member, and in the opinion of the Board they did not call for any special inquiry. The. Board would, in any case, consider it detrimental to discipline to give detailed figures or comparisons such as are asked for in the question.
