HC Deb 27 February 1924 vol 170 cc510-1W
Mr. WRIGHT

asked the Minister of Agriculture the number of miles of rivers and streams deepened for purposes of drainage in Great Britain for the years 1913 to 1923, inclusive, and the average cost per mile?

Mr. BUXTON

I regret that I am not in a position to afford my hon. Friend the information he desires, as it is not available. I am, however, sending him an account of the work done during the winters of 1921–1922 and 1922–1923 for the relief of unemployment. Similar work is being continued during the present winter.
