HC Deb 27 February 1924 vol 170 cc504-5W
Mr. HANNON

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether it is the intention of the present Government to introduce a Bill, on the lines promised by the late Government, which will enable them to appoint a Committee to deal with the disposal of the Boxer indemnity, with special reference to the claims put forward by the holders of Vickers' Chinese Notes?

Mr. PONSONBY

The answer is in the affirmative; but no inference should be drawn as to the likelihood of Boxer indemnity funds becoming available for defaulted payments on the unsecured debts of the Chinese Government.
