§ Mr. BUXTONI am aware that the present price of potatoes is high, especially as compared with last year, when very unremunerative prices were obtained by growers and consumers benefited correspondingly. I do not think an inquiry is necessary. The higher prices this year are clearly due to the reduced acreage and lower yield.
