§ Mr. JOWETTThe subway in question is under the jurisdiction of the Lord Great Chamberlain, who does not consider it desirable to open it at present; but the London County Council are considering a scheme for opening to the public the portion of the subway beneath the Embankment with direct access to the street instead of the lower level as at present.
