§ Mrs. WINTRINGHAMasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether he has yet received the official report on the flogging to death of a native in Southern Rhodesia; and whether he proposes to take any action in the matter?
Mr. THOMASI presume that the hon. Member refers to the case of Andrew van der Heever and Nyayatera, which formed the subject of a question to the late Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies on the 11th July last. A record of the proceedings in the case has been received through the High Commissioner for South Africa, and I will send a copy to the hon. Member for perusal.
