Hick- 3122W man, Bilston, Staffs, are on the list of Government contractors; what rate of wages are paid; whether he is aware that there is a strike at present against the rate of wages paid to the maintenance staff by this firm at the Bilston works; and whether he is taking any steps in the matter?
§ Mr. SHAWThe answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. With regard to the second part I am not in a position to state the wages paid by the firm. I am aware that a dispute is in progress; the good offices of my Department are at the disposal of the parties, should they desire to avail themselves of them.
