§ Mr. HADEN GUESTasked the Financial Secretary to the Treasury whether, before it is decided to reduce the wages of postal workers on 1st December in accordance with the official cost-of-living figures, consideration will be given to the fact that such reduction will wipe out the benefit of the reduction in certain food prices resulting from the last Budget?

Member is incompatible with the method, applied by agreement to the permanent staffs of the Civil Service as a whole, of awarding a bonus or cost-of-living addition to wages which is varied every six months in accordance with the ascertained variations in the official cost-of-living index figure.
