Mr. CHAMBERLAIN32 local authorities have submitted 37 schemes comprising 91.46 acres and 3,889 dwellings. Of these schemes 18, comprising 52.86 acres and 2,022 dwellings, have been confirmed. Information as to the total acreage actually acquired and the number of houses actually demolished is not available. In addition to the local authorities2380W who have submitted schemes, 36 have promised to proceed with improvement schemes and 37 have the matter under consideration.
