WILSONasked the Home Secretary whether his attention has been called to the very many cases where furnishings have been purchased by workpeople on the hire system, and consequent upon unemployment and inability to continue weekly or monthly payments those furnishings have been seized in many cases; and whether, in view of the hardship thus entailed on the people concerned, he will give favourable consideration to amending the law to prevent such hardship?
§ Mr. BRIDGEMANNo, Sir; I have no information on the subject, and I do not think I could hold out any hope that it would be possible to add legislation on this subject to the Government programme.
