HC Deb 02 May 1923 vol 163 cc1412-3W
Mr. FOOT

asked the Financial Secretary to the Admiralty whether the Resettlement Committee, who were appointed in 1920 and who took evidence in 1921, have concluded their investigations; and, if so, when their proposals regarding educational and vocational training to men of the Fleet will be published?

Commander EYRES-MONSELL

The Report of the Resettlement Committee has received very full consideration, and it is hoped to inaugurate a scheme of vocational training at the home ports in the course of the current financial year. The details of such a scheme, however, will require to be considered in relation to the strictly limited funds available for this service. It would be contrary to practice to publish the recommendations of the Committee.
