HC Deb 26 March 1923 vol 162 cc64-5W
Mr. TURNER

asked the Minister of Labour if he will consider the advisability of a? pointing one or two working men on the Committee inquiring into the subject of domestic servants, so as to secure the views of the parents of the class from which domestic servants are usually drawn?

Sir M. BARLOW

There are a great many interests which might claim to be represented on this Committee, but its membership must be kept within reasonable dimensions, and for this and other reasons I came to the conclusion that on the whole it would be best that. the members should all be women. The Committee will no doubt take evidence and will thus he able to ascertain all relevant views.
