§ Mr. BRIDGEMAN:The figures, according to the returns furnished to the Home Office, are
Morphine manufactured, 147,790 OZS.; exported, 77,364 OZS.
Heroin manufactured, 12,385 OZS.; exported, 14,107 OZS.
To obtain the balance remaining and used in the country during the year, the 2781W stocks in hand at the beginning of the year would have to be added to the amount manufactured; and we have no figures to show these amounts, but, apart from any supplies obtained illicitly in contravention of the Dangerous Drugs Act, the balance would be disposed of for medical and scientific purposes through the wholesale or retail dealers licensed or authorised under the Act.
