§ Mr. DARBISHIREasked the President of the Board of Education if he is aware that many teachers have been put to expense in preparing for the examination announced for November, 1923, which has been cancelled under Circular 1,296; and if he is prepared to make representations in the proper quarter that they should be granted compensation for such expense?
Mr. WOOD:I may refer the hon. Member to the reply I gave him on the 15th March. I do not feel justified in asking my right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer to provide funds for this purpose.
